TANF/Title IV-E

  Judicial Services

The Judicial Services Unit provides support services to each of the Courtrooms and is responsible for the scheduling of all Court Hearings. The unit schedules between 1,500 to 1,900 hearings per month and averages between 6,500 to 8,000 written delinquent and dependent court orders per month. Judicial Services is also responsible for entering into the computer system data that is required for the Juvenile Court scheduling system.

  Restitution Services

When a crime is committed, not only is the victim harmed but the community is harmed as well. Under the Balanced and Restorative Justice principles that Pennsylvania follows, criminals have an obligation to repair that which they have harmed.

Victims are repaid for any financial losses they suffered because of criminal behavior. These losses may include property loss, medical bills, home and car repairs, insurance deductible, etc. Paying restitution is a way for persons involved in a crime to take responsibility for their actions and trying to right the wrong they committed.

This department is the fiscal branch of Placement Management and In-Home services. It is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding eligibility and reimbursement criteria for these services. To properly make these determinations, financial interviews must be conducted when children are going into placement. When in-home services are provided, information is collected by the Probation Officer and then given to this department for follow-up and processing.

Employees from this department interact regularly with Children, Youth and Families, the County Assistance Office and Family Court in carrying-out their assigned duties.
