Information on filing Private Dependency Petitions or Petitions to Modify/ Enforce Permanent Legal Custodianship Orders as of June 1, 2020
Effective June 1, 2020, with minor exceptions, all Juvenile proceedings shall be conducted by videoconferencing or teleconferencing. This directive includes hearings on Private Dependency Petitions and Petitions to Modify/ Enforce Permanent Legal Custodianship Orders.
If you wish to file either of these Petitions, you may do so by one of two methods:
- You may fill out the appropriate form electronically and email the form to email@example.com or
- You may print the form, complete it and mail it to Allegheny County Children’s Court, Child Protection and Permanency Department Suite 3020, 440 Ross Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
After your completed forms have been processed by the Court, you will receive notice of the video or teleconference hearing date. You will receive notice by email or regular mail, depending on which method you used to file your Petition.
Please keep in mind that the above petitions will not be processed in-person at the courthouse during the judicial emergency. You must file electronically or by regular mail.
