Bail Services | Pretrial Supervision Unit
The primary function of the Pretrial Supervision Unit is to enforce stipulations
ordered by a judicial authority as it relates to pretrial release conditions. Once
released, defendants are instructed to report by phone, report in person, or be
placed and supervised under electronic monitoring. All conditions ordered and enforced,
are to ensure that the defendant appears at all scheduled court hearings until final
case disposition, and to manage the risk of re-arrest to the community.
All pretrial supervision stipulations are enforced and supervised by Pretrial Officers
with the exception of the Pretrial Electronic Monitoring stipulated cases. These
cases are coordinated by Pretrial Officers, but supervised by the Allegheny County
Adult Probation Electronic Monitoring Unit.
If supervision conditions are ordered, and upon release from the Allegheny County
Jail, a defendant must comply with the level of supervision ordered by either phoning
into the designated phone number or reporting at 10:00am on the day after release
from the jail. Failure to comply with court ordered conditions may result in incarceration
or bond revocation. The Pretrial Electronic Monitoring conditions require all other
"holds" be satisfied prior to being interviewed. Once all the information is verified
the case is processed.
