The Housing Court Help Desk is tasked with assisting litigants in residential landlord/tenant cases and in residential ejectment cases involving the possession of real property.
If you have an existing appeal or case at the Allegheny Court of Common Pleas, you can look up your case filings and information with the Department of Court Records Case Search. You may enter your case number, solve the security check, and view all the filings in your case.
If you need to obtain a date and time for argument for a housing court motion, please see the first FAQ under the housing court FAQ section.

Please include your full name, phone number, and case number (if applicable) in your messages with the Help Desk. Landlord-Tenant Mediation Program
On the date of the scheduled Arbitration hearing, landlords and tenants may instead participate in mediation if both parties agree to it.
How to Look Up and Track your Case
Step 1: Go to the Website
• Open a web browser (such as Google
Chrome or Safari) and go to:
https://dcr.alleghenycounty.us/civil
Step 2: Start the Registration Process
• On the left side of the screen, hover your
mouse over “Civil/Family Division.”
• Click on “Register.”
Step 3: Click ‘Click Here to Register’
• This will take you to the registration page
where you can create your account.
Step 4: Fill Out the Registration Form
• Complete all required fields, which are
marked with a red asterisk (*).
• When creating your User ID, Password,
and 4-Digit Identifier, choose something
memorable that you won’t forget.
• Once all information is entered, click “Sign Up.”
Step 5: Log In to Your Account
• After registering, return to
https://dcr.alleghenycounty.us/civil
• Enter your User ID and Password to log in.
• You can now search for and view information
about your case.
Step 6: Search by Case Number
• Make sure “Search by Case Number”
is selected.
• Enter either your Standard Case ID
or Non-Standard Case ID if you have it.
• Click “Search.
The Docket will list all filings in the case and key details including:
• Litigants (people or companies involved
in the case)
• Attorneys representing either side
• Non-litigants (people involved but not
as main parties)
• Docket entries (official court records
and filings)
• Scheduled events (upcoming hearings,
deadlines, etc.
