Interpreter Services and Americans with Disabilities Act
To request an interpreter or reasonable disability accommodation, please complete the following form–you may use either the Word document or fillable PDF form:
The Fifth Judicial District (Allegheny County Courts) provides foreign language interpreters for persons with limited English proficiency in judicial proceedings, and to enable access to court services and programs.
The Court also provides interpreters for deaf/hard-of-hearing persons and other reasonable disability accommodations to provide access to Court services, programs, facilities, and in judicial proceedings pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
*** IMPORTANT ***
Please request a foreign language interpreter or disability accommodation immediately upon need. Due to high demand, untimely interpreter requests may not be able to be fulfilled resulting in a continuance of the proceedings. We strive to provide the most effective communication for all court users and appreciate when requests are submitted as soon as possible once a court date is scheduled or received.
Also, if you no longer require the services of the interpreter/accommodation, contact the Language Access Coordinator to cancel your request so the Court will not incur unnecessary costs.
If you have a complaint alleging violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act by the Fifth Judicial District you may file a complaint through the grievance procedure below.
If you have a complaint regarding language access/interpreter services provided by the Fifth Judicial District, please complete the Pennsylvania Courts Language Services Complaint Form below. Complaints must be sent to the Language Access Coordinator. A response will be sent to you after a careful review of the facts.
