Filing Private Dependency Petitions & Petitions to Modify/Enforce Custodianship Orders

All Juvenile proceedings shall be conducted in person unless otherwise directed by the Hearing Officer or Judge. This directive includes hearings on Private Dependency Petitions and Petitions to Modify/ Enforce Permanent Legal Custodianship Orders.

If you wish to file either of these Petitions, you may do so by one of three methods:

1. You may fill out the appropriate form electronically and email the form to childprotection@alleghenycourts.us; or
2. You may print the form, complete it and mail it to:

   Pittsburgh, PA 15219; or
3. You may print the form, complete it and physically return it to the:
   Allegheny County Department of Dependency and Related Services

   440 Ross Street
   Pittsburgh, PA 15219

After your completed forms have been processed by the Court, you will receive notice of the hearing date. You will receive notice by email or regular mail, depending on which method you used to file your Petition.
